Rob, or is it Rolf..?

I met Rob through Miles, he's a tattooist, which I know is hard to believe...

Rob looks the part and when I met him, I thought that he fits in well for my series, that I'm hopefully sending to the man Morrissey..

Rob's a massive fan also and jumped at the chance...

Anyway he dropped into Elbankville Studio's yesterday and we took these of him, for a man never in front of the camera before, I thought he did a good job..

Miles.. My long lost best man and muse....

Miles and I have been buddies for nearly 20 years, I met him when he did my first tattoo and we've been friends ever since (15 tattoos later)...

I've not seen him for 2 and a half years and when we came back from our trip, we found a scribbled note, saying he's back in town... Miles has always had an interesting look, whatever it may be..?

I've shot Miles for various editorials over the years and he's gone on to shoot some beautiful menswear editorial whilst back in Europe, along with runway shows for the likes of McQueen and Paul Smith.

I went to see him at work yesterday and we decided to shoot him and his work college Rob's portrait this morning, in the great hope these shots can help me get a 20 minute gig, with the man that is Morrissey...

Rob's to follow..

White Rabbit's Man on the Door.. Pete.

Here is the third and final part of my portraits of people (and dogs) from the Gallery White Rabbit..

http://www.whiterabbitcollection.org/

Pete is the man who quietly minds the place, from the front doors..

I thought Pete had a interesting look about him and he reminded me of my mate from back home, Gary George...

Anyway Pete sat for 10 minutes to the amusement of the rest of the staff and a class of teenage students, who arrived in reception, just before we finished...

White Rabbit's man on the front line.. David.

A few months back, I went to White Rabbit to shoot some footage with Paul Mac.. That's where I met David, who runs the front of shop, so to speak at the gallery.. He reminded me a little of Talking Head's front man David Byrne..

Anyway a couple of weeks back I was in there again, with my girls and approached David, to see if I could shoot a quick portrait of him.. He said he didn't like have a his photograph taken, but I promised it would be a painless and swift experience, so he agreed..

David has a sharp way about him, in the way he dresses and he's a pleasant chap too..

Here are the results..

Daisy.. White Rabbit's beautiful British Bulldog...

I arrived at Sydney's White Rabbit Gallery this morning, at 8.50am to photograph David and Pete, the men on front desk and security, at the gallery..

http://www.whiterabbitcollection.org/

Both chaps have interesting looks and had kindly agreed to let shoot a quick portrait of them..

Then halfway through shooting David, in walked Daisy..

Last week, whilst me and the girls were at the gallery, we had met Daisy in the lift, she's a stunner and has a bottom row of teeth, many would envy..

After I'd finished shooting David, she kindly allowed me the great honour of capturing the true beauty she possesses..

I just hope my images have done her a true justice..?

Luckily David and Co were on hand to speak in their best dog voices and ply her with the finest biscuits to get her to sit still, for 2 minutes..

Here are my pick of the bunch..

Monty, my English Staffy said she was well fit and would love to take her for a walk round the block sometime...

David & Pete's shots to follow.

Squeaky's Grenade Toy...

Today me and my three girls took a trip to White Rabbit Gallery in Sydney, to have a look at the latest work...  http://www.whiterabbitcollection.org/

I love it in there, they show some beautifully diverse work, if you've not been and in the area, I strongly recommend you go... There is a motorbike and sidecar made from wire, simply beautiful..

Anyway, whilst waiting for two of my three girls, at the front desk, I pick up this squeaky grenade for Olive, to keep her entertained, her nickname, just so happens to also be Squeaky...

Our dog Monty already hates it...

Pigment.. Jasper Knight...

Artist Jasper Knight was introduced to me, by a mutual friend Joel at one of his Sydney shows earlier this year.. Jasper was busy, so I introduced myself, told what I was doing with the series and arranged to come in to his studio and take it from there.. That was 6 months ago and I managed to shoot his still life series back then too. Pinning him down for his portrait on the other hand, has taken this long.

Jasper has his studio in town, James who is in front and runs the space lets me in, as Jasper is out and I set up in a corner out of the way.. Large pieces of Jasper's work hang on the walls around me, for a show coming up in Melbourne... They are bright, graphic and in your face, in a good way..

20 minutes later Jasper arrives and I ask for a stool, for him to sit on.. He seems impressed with all the kit I've brought to shoot him with, as most photographers in the past just shoot natural light.

He sits down and we start.. Jasper's easy going and doesn't mind what direction we take with the shots, as long as I don't look like a _ _ _ / _ _ _ _..

Jasper keeps coming over to look at the shots and loves the detail in the frames, 10 minutes later we're winding up and discussing Morrissey's up and coming tour, I do a quick grade on one his picks, the first frame and we're done..

"Who have you got next"?
"Ben Quilty, hopefully"...?

The Hallway.. Campaign Brief.

A few months back, Hannah from 'The Hallway' asked if I could shoot the company's partners Jules Hall and Simon Lee, both expats from the UK, keen sailors and lovers of the water, so we set about coming up with a shot for Campaign Brief..

http://www.thehallway.com.au/

They wanted to do something in the harbour, with a buoy, so I suggested we got nautical, in bright yellow waders, thick knits and a fine couple of sea worthy pipes to boot.. Oh and a kids rubber dingy..

The chaps have a good sense of humour and were right up for doing something a little left of field..

So the following week, we set out in one of their work college's Joppie's boat.. As you can see from the image, the harbour couldn't have been any calmer, I've had rougher baths I thought.. That was until I started to look through the camera and my old sea legs went from under me... I'm afraid to say in total I managed to be lying face down, at the bow revisiting my breakfast, a total of 4 times, to the amusement of all on board..

I'd like to say the 4 hours flew by, but I'd be lying..

Though as portraits go, it was nice to do something a little different..

Rubik's Twist..

On arriving at our hotel in Hong Kong last month, the staff were fantastic with the kids, giving them balloons and this old bad boy from my childhood.. The Rubik's Twist, it was fair to say the girls didn't get much playtime, but I had a trip down memory lane, when things were simpler and I had hair...

So when we got back I thought I'd have a further play and shoot these..
