Alexander McKenzie... Portrait

Well what a lovely gentleman Alex is.. His paintings are simply beautiful, the overall detail and feel quite humbling.. So I felt we needed to shoot Alex in a different light to the usual cliche artist image and he was game.. I hope I get to photograph Alex over the years to come and continue to document his work and career..

Brian... Electric Art

Here is the latest 'Play God' collaboration between myself, Justin Carew and Iggy Rodriguez, for Electric Art. Inness Robbins as usual has produced a top shelf job on the post, to create Justin and Iggy's vision.. Thanks to Brendan Maclean for his acting talents and location for the brief.. Once I got the brief, I knew Brendan and his flat were right for the shot..  But the real credit must go to Annaliese Szota, whose legs really are the shot........

Pigment.. Alexander McKenzie

Following on my series with Australian artists, I've recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the artist Alexander McKenzie www.alexandermckenzie.com.au. I was lucky enough to go to his studio and see up close his exquisite landscapes.. This being the second in the series it was interesting to see how different he works to George. He kindly let me take what I wanted to shoot and I ended up with a great selection of pieces. Alex joked at some of the stuff I thought was worth shooting, like the newspapers that he uses to wipe his brushes on, so graphic.. Here is a selection of my favourites, from the 150 images I took.. I'm also aiming to take Alex's portrait in the not too distant future.. Next up is Joanna Braithwaite and her husband Frazer... An exhibition is planned for next year of the best images from the series.
